Thanks to all who showed up for our last meeting, you were awesome, and a big shout out to our new members who were brave enough to find their way to our lair and share their love of all things horror.

Our next meeting takes place at the usual haunt - The Long Stone Pub at Townsend Street Dublin 2 on Wednesday the 19th of August and the ghouls should be gathered by 7pm in the snug.

As per ye olde tradition we have chosen a selection of books and short stories for reading and discussion at our next huddle - enjoy!

Our first offering is Dweller by Jeff Strand -

When boy meets monster and embarks on a friendship that will last for decades.  How far will this friendship take them, and what horrors lie ahead?

Our second offering is Popsy by Stephen King

Another Stephen King short story makes the cut this month.  From his collection of tales Nightmares and Dreamscapes we bring you Popsy. When you have a predilection it's always best practice to choose your victims wisely.....

Our third offering is The Monkey's Paw by W. W. Jacobs -

Three wishes to the owner of the monkey's paw.... but what is the price for your most desperate hopes and dreams?

All of these books are available on Amazon in print and also digital format for those who have a kindle.  However, for anyone who hasn't access to either you can read the following books for free here -

Stephen King Nightmares and Dreamscapes - Popsy
The story begins halfway down page 66 and the link takes you direct to that page.

Unfortunately despite all efforts (including channeling and invocation) I was unable to find a suitable (or safe) link to Jeff Strand's Dweller but if anyone has any links feel free to let us know; all contributions grave-tly appreciated!

And finally a little compendium of treats for those who want to listen or watch while about on your prowls I have added a selection of links below to satisfy your appetite for all things gory and ghoulish. Just copy and paste the link into your browser, relax and enjoy...from the edge of your seat, bed, crypt, rookery, lookout...

September's reading -

One of the books we will be reading for September's meeting is Life's Lottery by Kim Newman.  This is a book where you can choose your own beginning, adventure and ending. We wanted to give you an early warning on this one so that you can get a copy in advance as there are no free online reading links available.  You can get it on Amazon for Kindle and in print copy -
